Elisa Wikey has been drawing for books since the first grade, when she authored and illustrated her first story about a gopher talent show. It had the subtitle "Gopher the Limelight." She thought this was very clever.

It was those humble beginnings that took her to Denver, where she attended the Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design. After three and a half incredibly tough years of learning the differences between black and gray she graduated with a BFA in Children's Book Illustration. The year of her triumphant release from school was 2009.

Since then, Elisa's work has been most often described as 'that looks amazing!' It's also been said to have an interesting blend of humor and sarcasm that is fun to look at by children aged 1 to 67.2, the average life expectancy in the world today.
